It felt so good to be a "Social Work Student in Action" today. I am so excited about this profession, this call, this passion that is growing more and more everyday. I actually felt like I was doing something instead of simply thinking about it. I was inspired by the other young adults at the summit today. How organized, how willing they were to forge new relationships and connections. We are so not alone in this fight. All I can say is I am excited to see what the future holds.
Thank you Prof. Humphreys for the experience. You are an awesome woman of faith, and action. Your drive and knowledge inspire me. Peace and Blessings!

Looking back on Friday I now understand the importance of making an apperance and showing that we as Nyack college students care.Participating in my first rally made me feel like i had a sence of purpose. It was a time to step away from our everyday activities and step up to advocate for the less fortunate. Thank You, Prof. Humpphreys for the oppertunity to have a firsthand experiance in this heart felt rally.

WOW, Its all but a few days after I was able to expericence something much bigger than myself, As many came together to take a stand for Proverty. It was an amazing experience, looking back on that day made me realize how much my heart is really where God has it to be. Something amazing happened to me that day, the day of fasting was amazing let me tell you why. God allowed me to feel something that afternoon that i had never experienced in my life, while standing by the bus stop waiting for the van I happened to look over and saw a homeless man sitting on the ground, my heart dropped. As i could not help but look, I began to go back and forth on wether or not I should give him money(He was sleeping). I began to pray for him and all of a sudden my stomach beagn to ache and the pain became so intense that I had to bend over, now I thought this was from not eating from sun down the day before but as I looked back over to the man now laying down the Lord said to me gently this is why you are here... then i got such a peace in my spirit and the pains were gone. For a split second God allowed me to experience that same very pain that the man on the ground was feeling. And so thats why I am standing, not just because its for a good cause but because there and many dying from a lack of basic needs and its time to stand in their defense. Today I acted and took a stand... Thank you Prof. Humphreys for that amazing experience.
A word, A look, A touch, An act...
    Blessings
